Mansun Live - May 1st 1997

Portsmouth Pyramid, supported by Geneva

Having seen Mansun at Southampton Guildhall supporting the Charlatans and at the Joiners once supporting Audioweb and as a headlining act. I just had to see them at Portsmouth.
Mansun blistered through the set, whilst the entire audience looked upon the bands cool persona with awe. Some were jumping round like Zebadee, some were laughing with glee.
Opening with the first track on "Attack...", then turning it into something fresh was astounding as was latest single "TAXLO$$". As some of the single track is synthesized, this wouldn't be easy to perform live for various reasons, so it was duely turned into a dark rock fest, to great results.
It was indeed a rollercoaster of a gig, and as it turns out THE BEST GIG I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! We were laughing all the way to Southampton, high on adrenaline. Step aside Oasis, you have been de-throned. See you at Glastonbury.
